You are the altar, not the sacrifice
I'm just here to say, a good photo has much less to do with the tools, and much more to do with the creativity. The backdrop? Drop cloths from the hardware section. The outfit? Cheap halloween decorations you can get at the dollar store. The podiums? Shipping boxes I had laying around. I had a very simple two light set up, one to illuminate the background, one to shine on me. No big fancy studio. No thousands of dollars in equipment. No name brand clothing. Just imagination. It's important as an artist, that even as you grow and "make it" to the point of getting to work with all of the bells and whistles, that you take a step back and force yourself to lean on your abilities. It's easy to take amazing photos in a stunning location, with the perfect wardrobe, and an elite lighting set up. But what about the days when you had less? Did you not still create art? Don't forget what made you who you are today- your EYE. Your MIND. Your DRIVE.
